Afrikaans (2nd Language)

Contrary to belief, Afrikaans is the second most widely spoken language in South Africa.

Our students and parents must realise that outside the perimeters of Kloof, Afrikaans is commonly used and heard.  It is still very relevant in South Africa today, therefore it is a good choice as a second language, which you are required to do under the F.E.T. system.

Afrikaans at Kloof High School is not trapped in the past.  We endeavour to keep up with the latest trends in Afrikaans and to teach the students a little about modern Afrikaans.  We try to break down the misconception that Afrikaners are conservative , stuck in the past and narrow minded.

We in the Afrikaans department embrace change in the new South Africa!
