Opening of the Kloof High, Yellowwood Centre (Academic Support Unit building)

Kloof High School celebrated the grand opening milestone of its Academic Support Unit (ASU) building on June 3, marking a significant achievement in its pursuit of providing outstanding education and support to learners. The state-of-the-art facility, seamlessly integrated with the existing school, offers a wonderful learning environment and thoughtfully designed spaces to cater to various academic needs.

The event commenced with joy and enthusiasm as esteemed guests, educators, students, and community members gathered to witness the realization of three and a half years of hard work. Mrs. Gail Ross, Head of the ASU, expressed gratitude to the dedicated individuals involved in bringing the building to life, emphasizing its profound impact on learners’ achievement and overall success.

“I had no idea that three and a half years later we would be standing in front of a building such as this. A building dedicated to serve the needs of the children who just need a little bit of extra help to meet their own potential,” Mrs. Ross remarked. “When we started this journey, I did not know that a yellowwood tree was going to be planted right at the very start of the building process. Yellowwood trees grow slowly but they produce wood of exceptional quality. If given a chance and time to develop every child can reach their potential too”

Connor Bramley, a current learner, delivered a heartfelt speech and officially inaugurated the building by cutting the ribbon. Attendees were then treated to a guided tour, exploring the remarkable amenities and resources available to learners. Visitors enthusiastically engaged with ASU s members and experienced the interactive learning spaces firsthand.

The facility stands as a testament to Kloof High School’s unwavering commitment to educational excellence, destined to leave a lasting impact on the lives of countless learners. It symbolizes the transformative power of education in shaping a brighter future for individuals.
